US memo: Israel favored Egypt’s Suleiman
According to leaked cable, American diplomats stated in 2008 there is no question that Jewish state is ‘most comfortable’ with prospect of current Egyptian vice president succeeding Mubarak as president after latter’s retirement
General Omar Suleiman, who was appointed as the Egyptian vice president a week and a half ago, was Israel’s preferred candidate to replace President Hosni Mubarak after the latter retired, according to American documents released by the WikiLeaks website and published Monday night by British newspaper Telegraph.
Some of the documents were written in 2008, when the president’s son, Gamal Mubarak, was still seen as the person with the highest chances to succeed his father. Read HereShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
